Grants and Sponsorships
Promoting health and wellness and investing time in New Mexico’s future and the communities we serve are core business goals. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) provides grants to nonprofit organizations to support program-focused initiatives or for general operating support. We also sponsor numerous events throughout the year that benefit community, civic and educational organizations.
BCBSNM is proud to partner with the Hispanic community. In September 2014, BCBSNM was the exclusive sponsor of the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Maravilla Gala, attended by over 800 guests. NHCC focuses on the study, advancement and presentation of Hispanic arts, culture and humanities. It supports the appreciation and understanding of Hispanic culture by preserving and showcasing Hispanic arts and achievements over the past 400 years.
BCBSNM donated funds to Navajo United Way to support the residents of two Native American communities near the New Mexico-Arizona border. In June 2014, residents were forced to leave their homes because of a wildfire burning in the Chuska Mountains. More than 14,000 acres were scorched in this area, which is considered sacred by the Navajo Nation.
